Finding Healing and Growth Amidst the Challenges of the COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all of us in many ways, but for some, it has been particularly challenging. As a nursing home administrator and registered nurse, I found myself on the front lines of the battle against this deadly virus. At the beginning of the pandemic, I believed that my team and I could keep the virus out of our facility, but unfortunately, I was wrong. Despite our best efforts, many staff members and residents contracted the virus, and some even passed away.

As the pandemic raged on, I felt helpless and overwhelmed. The protocols from governmental agencies kept changing, and my team was tired, stressed, and exhausted. We all did our best, but the loss was devastating. I lost one of my lifelong best friends and even some family members to this virus. It was a challenging time, and I knew I had to make a change, or I was going to be lost as well.

Fortunately, I found support in unexpected places. I met a Reiki practitioner who told me that I had PTSD, something that I had never considered. She gave me a Reiki session, and it had a profound effect on me. It opened my eyes to the fact that I needed to take care of myself if I was going to be able to continue to care for others.

I made a decision to leave my job as a nursing home administrator and pursue my passion for Reiki. I became certified to practice Reiki on others and animals, and I even teach others the practice of Reiki. It has been a journey of healing and growth, and I am excited to continue to share my experiences with others.

In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic has been a difficult time for all of us, but it has also given us opportunities to grow and discover new passions. I hope that my story will inspire others to take care of themselves and explore new opportunities, even during challenging times.
